Our Story
Open Eyes Ministries was founded in 1999 by a North American couple from Knoxville, Tennessee. After an exploratory mission trip to El Salvador, they decided to sell everything they had and moved as full-time missionaries to Nicaragua. Immediately, they realized there was a lack of leadership in the churches and therefore, they were not effectively accomplishing the purpose of the church, in enlarging God's Kingdom. Leadership was the key in opening doors to equip the saints to do God's work. Soon, this leadership training was provided not only to churches, but also to the national police, military, government and non-government organizations, educational system, and many more. By God's Grace, He opened doors in Costa Rica, Honduras, and El Salvador. Nowadays, our work is focused in Honduras, where we continue to fulfill our calling.

Hey guys,
I’m Pamela Castellón. I am blessed with the opportunity of leading one of God’s ministries in Central America, my beautiful Honduras.
I was raised with no Christian beliefs, but I was taught that there was a God who was The Creator of everything and that I could always come to Him when needed. My parents worked hard to provide me with a bilingual education. This turned to be the number one gift God used to introduce me to Open Eyes Ministries.
During Easter week, 2007, my family was invited to a Christian retreat at my grandparents farm. We decided to go, and Praise God, my entire family and I gave our hearts to Christ! God came into my life when I thought I had it all; when I thought I didn’t need Him. Not really knowing what this was all about but excited to find out, the Sunday after revival, my Pastor asked me to help him welcoming some North American missionaries visiting the church, so I did. That was the day I met Terry & Arlene DuPont and Open Eyes Ministries. God had a plan through it all. He prepared the way. He prepared me because He knew that one day I would be serving him with all my gifts, talents, and soul. I have been serving as a full-time missionary ever since.
I try my best daily and work sacrificially to ensure that the ministry of Open Eyes is honoring to the Kingdom so that lives will continue to be impacted in Central America.
Our Vision:
Our vision at Open Eyes Ministries is to use God's Word, as well as our gifts and talents to spread The Gospel of Jesus Christ to all of Central America.
Our Goals
We, at Open Eyes, are excited about the vision God has placed before us and are determined to be diligent with total commitment. Our primary focus is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in all we say and do – 1 Timothy 4:15

Evangelism: To train and partner with local pastors, church members, and North American team members to boldly and effectively share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Leadership Training: To train and equip pastors and organizations, through Christian leadership principals, to improve their knowledge and skills to influence others.

Discipleship: To work with churches to see that all new believers receive purposeful discipleship training.

Cells and Small Groups: To continue to help churches and others start and multiply their groups to cover their communities and spread the Gospel.

Assist the Poor and Oppressed: To fulfill Christ’s mandate to meet physical and spiritual needs.
